About us

Our Story

The MotionPilot adventure started in 2015 with a group of three friends. We were studying engineering together at the time and all we had back then was an idea and a blank sheet. So we kicked off this project in parallel to our studies, with very little means, unshakable dedication, a healthy dose of patience and a lot of creativity.

Soon, a first prototype was born. It was made of cardboard and looked nothing like a remote controller but somehow, it worked!

Today, after years of hard work and many ups and downs, our idea has finally come to life: we have built the first FPV drone hand motion controller. Vector is a total game changer for FPV pilots and offers a much more immersive and intuitive flying experience.

How it all started

Some of our founders, in their teenage years, were enthusiasts of all stuff that can fly. They were strapping their friends video cameras to remote-controlled airplanes before FPV drones even existed! Growing up, they adopted FPV planes when they emerged and followed closely the improvements in the field throughout the years.

But as much as they loved the discipline, they were not convinced by the controllers. They never seemed to evolve to offer a good FPV flight experience. Instead of just taking what existed, our founders decided to create their own controller. Easy as pie!

Our team

Our team is based in Switzerland, close to the Polytechnical School of Lausanne, which is where our founders kick-started this project. With time, people with different backgrounds and skills joined the team and contributed to the project, making the MotionPilot family a little bigger each time.

It's just the beginning

Our product is finally ready and functional, but we a’re still not there yet! Today, our small team is working hard to gather as much feedback from experienced FPV pilots and from new adopters as well.

As the feedbacks have been great until now, we’re on our way to put the controller in the hands of more people. But everything is produced and assembled in-house, which is a lot of work and takes time, so we’re doing our best to serve as many people as possible! Stay tuned!
